It was a key game for the top position in the league. Mainland P. made 23-of-26 free shots (88.5 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard McKenzie Forbes (183-2000, college: USC) who helped to win the game recording 39 points (!!!) and the other American import forward Haliegh Reinoehl (188-1998, college: Akron) who added 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) during the contest. Australian forward Louise Brown (189-1995, college: Tennessee) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and American forward Jordan Horston (188-2001, college: Tennessee) scored 19 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Four Mainland P. and five Tokomanawa Q. players scored in double figures. Pouakai have a solid three-game winning streak. Mainland P. used an opportunity after N. Kahu lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Defending champion Tokomanawa Q. dropped to the third place with four games lost.
